CEDHAR Menstrual Hygiene Outreach – Nyanya Gwandara, Nasarawa State

On 8 June 2026, CEDHAR reached 100 adolescent girls at Government Secondary School, Nyanya Gwandara, with menstrual hygiene education and practical support.

Through an interactive and stigma-free session, students learned about menstruation, puberty, personal hygiene, menstrual hygiene management, self-care, and common myths surrounding periods. The girls were encouraged to ask questions freely and develop greater confidence in managing their menstrual health.

At the end of the programme, 100 sanitary pad packs were distributed to 100 girls, providing immediate support while reinforcing CEDHAR’s message that menstruation should never prevent a girl from learning, participating, or thriving.

This outreach is part of CEDHAR’s growing commitment to advancing menstrual dignity and girls’ education in rural and underserved communities.
